Incontestablement,

Stunning
large plate of Rhodochrosite rhombs with Quartz, Pyrite, and Tetrahedrite!
I don't think I need to tell anyone how rare plates of this size
are today. Just attend a mineral show and
the specimens you see can be counted on one hand. This plate is
covered with gemmy red Rhodo crystals
and some associated minerals for contrast. The largest crystals
are around 2 cm but most average 1.5 cm
in size. The plate is in excellent condition with only a few bumps
here and there which I will mention for
accuracy. There are the normal incomplete crystals around the
trim line of course and at about 2 o'clock
a rhomb has a small contact where it was touching matrix. None
of these detract in the least from the
dazzle of this gorgeous red plate and aren't even noticeable without
close inspection. This is the first large
plate I've offered in a couple of years and they go very fast.
If you need one for your collection, here it is!
From the Millennium Pocket, Fluorite Raise, Sweet Home Mine, Alma,
Colorado.
Measures 12 cm by 14 cm in total size.
